On September 23, Johannes Fruehauf, M.D., Ph.D., CEO of Lab Central was invited to the Café des Entrepreneurs #10 and shared his experience with the audience.

The next Café des Entrepreneurs #10 will take place on September 23rd at 6pm. The partners of the Café des Entrepreneurs are glad to welcome Mr Johannes Fruehauf, M.D., Ph.D., CEO of Lab Central to the Résidence of France.

Johannes Fruehauf is co-founder, president and executive director of LabCentral. He is responsible for all aspects of LabCentral’s operation. He is a physician and successful biotech entrepreneur. Prior to LabCentral, Johannes Fruehauf founded Cambridge Biolabs, a contract research facility serving startup and virtual companies in Kendall Square. He is also a co-founder of ViThera Pharmaceuticals, Deltix and Cequent Pharmaceuticals, and an advisor or board member to numerous life sciences companies and non-profits. Johannes Fruehauf earned his medical degree at the University of Frankfurt and his PhD at the University of Heidelberg (Germany).

A 28,000 square-foot facility in the heart of the Kendall Square, Cambridge, biotech innovation hub, LabCentralis a first-of-its-kind shared laboratory space designed as a launchpad for high-potential life-sciences and biotech startups. It offers fully permitted laboratory and office space for as many as 25 startups comprising approximately 100 scientists and entrepreneurs. LabCentral provides first-class facility and administrative support, skilled laboratory personnel, a domain-relevant expert speaker series ‒ as well as the other critical services and support that early-stage companies need to begin laboratory operations on day one. A private, nonprofit institution, LabCentral was funded in part by a $5 million grant from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, with support from its real-estate partner, MIT. Founding sponsors include Triumvirate Environmental and Johnson & Johnson Innovation. The first startups joined LabCentral in early November, with lab operations launching officially November 15, 2013.
LabCentral’s mission is to help create the next generation of powerhouse biotech companies by providing entrepreneurs and innovative life-sciences startups with the space and resources they need to test out, challenge, and nurture early ideas.

The French Startup GB&SMITH, a company specialized in cyber-security softwares, has been awarded several prizes such as the Deloitte Fast50 or the EY “Trophée de l’Entreprise d’avenir”.
