Each year, the French Cultural Services in the United States offer nearly 50 Youth International Meetings grants, allowing Americans aged 18 to 25 to spend 9 to 15 days in France.

This year, the French Consulate in Boston gives the opportunity to young Americans to discover the well-known Avignon Theater festival.

All expenses (accomodation, meals and activities) are paid by the French government, including the cost of airfare.

Would you like to teach English in a French school ?

About 1500 teaching assistant opportunities are available each year for people between 20 and 30 years old. This program will allow them to complete their studies with a professional teaching experience in a French school.

The teaching assistants provide about 12 hours per week of English lessons to primary, middle school students or teacher training students (IUFM).

Teaching assistants can teach in every part of France and receive a monthly stipend of € 780. This program is for young Americans who have at least 2 years of undergraduate education.

Chateaubriand Scholarships are intended for American students who wish to spend a year of research in France. Students enroll in a French university or laboratory to conduct their research.

In 2005, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the scholarship program : Eiffel doctorat, to help highly qualified student pursuing a PhD.

This program gives student the opportunity to spend a year in France (preferably students in the second or third year of preparing their thesis).

Students will stay for 10 months (the average desired length of stay). Renewing is not possible.

This scholarship provides a monthly stipend of €1400, with other forms of compensation such as round trip airfare, health insurance, cultural activities.
