June 21: The Fête de la Musique [fr]
On Sunday, June 21st, (4 p.m- 6 p.m) the Fête de la Musique will be celebrated in France and around the world, and live musicians will fill the streets with a wide variety of music for all to enjoy. An official and popular celebration since 1982, the Fête de la Musique encourages musicians of all genres and abilities to perform free concerts in public places. Every year now, it is celebrated in over 100 countries covering 5 continents.
The Fête de la Musique will be brought to Boston once again this year by the Community Music Center of Boston, for a lively afternoon and soirée of outdoor music in celebration of the summer solstice. It will be organizing four free concerts in the South End.
Bring a picnic, travel between locations or just enjoy the music!
