Legion of Honor
The Consul General, Christophe Guilhou, awarded veteran Walter Borowski the Legion of Honor on February 4th in Derry, NH.
The Legion of Honor is the highest honorific distinction in France. It was initiated by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802.
Traditionally France has always rewarded veterans for their efforts during the war. Upon President Chirac’s initiative in 2004, the French effort to reward veterans has kept growing.
