Two French rowing teams at Residence of France

On October 19th, Consul General of France in Boston, Valery Freland, hosted a cocktail reception to honor the students from both INSA Lyon, a French school of engineering, and from University of Lyon 1 who came to row at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday October 23rd. Some Francophone clubs from universities in New England came to support them.

The Consul General and his team were very pleased to welcome the French athletes at the Residence of France and to congratulate Thibault Colard who won the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games!

Francophone clubs from New England universities also came to support the French rowers and to exchange new ideas on how to better promote the French language and the Francophone culture on American campuses. They were welcomed by the Consul General, by the Consulate’s Cultural Attaché Emmanuelle Marchand and by Louise Yarmoff, responsible for the 2016-2017 "Jeunes Ambassadeurs" program.
