July 10- 27: The 19th Annual Boston French Film Festival
The 19th annual Boston French Film Festival will take place from July 10th to 27th at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. It showcases the diversity of contemporary French cinema with seasoned directors, like Catherine Breillat and Philippe Garrel, playing alongside relative newcomers like Justine Triet and Katell Quillévéré. From explosive dramas to unpredictable comedies and documentary to animation, this year’s Festival truly offers something for everybody.
The festival will open on July 10th, featuring Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu’s new thriller, Love is the Perfect Crime, starring Mathieu Amalric, Sara Forestier and Denis Podalydès. It will close on July 27th with Marcel Provost’s Violette, the story of the friendship between authors Violette Leduc (Emmanuelle Devos) and Simone de Beauvoir (Sandrine Kiberlain).
